By spring, the land healed.
A lake formed at the volcano's base.
Wildflowers bloomed where earth split.
The writer decided to study climate and environment — solar energy, wind patterns, how desert, prairie, and forest coexisted on the same globe.
"This earth is remarkable."
Maya closed the journal, trembling.
Unlike that destruction, today was peaceful.
A rainbow arched across the sky.
She picked up an abandoned umbrella.
The sun broke through.
A kite soared overhead.
Mr. Huang announced a tournament on nature and ecology.
Maya and Jake agreed to form a team.
Walking home, the air felt cleaner.
Autumn leaves were turning — the season shifting toward winter, the rhythm of nature.
That night, under a star-filled sky, Maya wrote: "Tomorrow, I begin."
